Farmer's Story
Fourth-generation grain farmer Paul Murphy manages a certified organic farm in Central Queensland, with his wife Cherry and two adult children, Sam and Hannah. In the 1980s Paul and his parents cleared and developed the farm, establishing 1400 ha for dryland cropping and 500 ha of native pastures for grazing.
A decade later, Paul and Cherry took ownership of the property, keen to meet the growing demand for food produced with less chemical inputs. Organic certification was achieved 1992, producing grain products that are totally free of chemical residues – something that our family also values.
Murphy Farming has a reputation for growing high quality, organic and nutritionally rich ancient and heritage wheats and other cereals, pulses and oilseeds. We are always developing better management practices to further improve the environment, build soil and crop health and maximise the nutrient value of our produce.
